My Sinulog 2010

Yesterday was the 30th year of Sinulog celebration in Cebu City. The Sinulog 2010 officially started with Mañanita Mass at Basilica del Sto. Niño on 4:00 AM and followed by 6:00 AM – Pontifical mass with His Eminence Ricardo J. Cardinal Vidal. The Sinulog 2010 Grand Parade Carousel kicked off on 9:00 AM, where different contingents; street dancers, float, and higantes were gathered in there designated base station.

When we arrived at my parents house, our neighbor cooked 2 lechons but I can’t help but only to look at the them as it is in the top “to be avoided” list. There was no lechon in my parents house because everyone knows I can’t eat such (for now) so they sympathized. There is only 1 fish cooked and intended for me, the rest of the food were pork and chicken – but all meat.

Happy 31st Birthday to me!

But wait, am I happy with my birthday today?

Yes and No.

Yes, because I spent the celebration together with my loved ones. My family, my wife and my son together with my wife’s godchild and my son’s nanny, visited my parents house where we ate lunch. My two sisters and my niece were present and a close friend was also there.

And of course, the main piece of the gathering was the FOOD! Wow! Delicious! My favorites were there but then again the words of my surgeon popped up as warning sign. My surgeon, Dr. Rosello and my internist, Dra. Singidas prohibited told me that I should eat low fat and avoid oily foods.
